This question is for CDEX.
Is it possible to import a bet file from another program into the lottery director for ticket printing?

Thanks,
Moe

Hi Moe,

The LD Free Wheeling software works with standard "text" files.

If you have your combinations in a plain text file (up to 5000 combinations), you can put it in your LD "Wheels" folder. Then you can print playslips, check it for wins, etc.

Also take a look in the Customer Support Message Board. There are some messages there about the new "Playslip Pal" software for printing playslips.

The 3&4 digit systems are best played with the single digit in mind, there's an anatomy of the 3 & 4 digit system, learn that and winnings will increase dramatically and more often. There are only 10 digits, select a single digit in any column and you can win. apply it to other systems within the anatomy structure and reduce the number of combinations.

I’ve been reading your site with great interest.
I have a couple of problems.
I need to strip out all 6, five + bonus number combinations from the jackpot and bonus line and have a database that contains all 7 combinations (the jackpot line plus 6 five + bonus lines) for every draw.
I also need to compare positional ranges of numbers with the draws database.
E.g. If position 1 tends to be in the range 1 – 12 and the other positions tend to be in certain other ranges, I need to check the draws database to see how many times the draw fell within the positional ranges specified.
Do you have anything that will do this?

Thanks very much

Hello:

I have been surfing the net and doing some considerable reading on lotteries in general and wheeling in particular.

It has been said that for a 6/49 type of draw there are an estimated 13,983,816 combinations. While not wanting to go into the mathematics from which this figure was derived, I was, nevertheless, curious about exactly how many different combinations there actually were. To this end, I ran several tests. All the tests used a simple program to generate 6/49 type lottos player's boards using random numbers. Each file, (all tests were done using single files containing all the boards), was then brought into a Microsoft Access database and checked for duplicates. After this test was done the winning numbers from a previous draw were inserted into the same table and again checked for duplicates. The bonus number, (7th number), was not included in these tests.

Test #1:
14 million boards generated. Just over 2 million duplicates found. No jackpot prizes generated.

Test #2:
18 million boards generated. Just over 3 million duplicates found. No jackpot prizes generated

Test #3: (Just completed today, March 12, 2005)
22 million boards generated. 2,414,489 duplicates found. No jackpot prizes generated.

So, considering the results of test #2 and test #3, is there some magic at work here or is there an error in the mathematical formula for calculating the estimated total number of boards.

Looking forward to your reply!

Problem solved with the kind help of Robert Perkis at Lotto-Logix. Wheeling can shift the position of numbers, giving more apparent combinations even though I started out with boards that were all sorted in ascending order.
Sunday, March 13th 2005 @ 10:40 AM

Posted by CDEX:

For any set of numbers, two kinds of lines can be generated:

... Combinations
... Permutations

The difference is in the final ordering of the numbers within each line. With 'combinations' there will be just one final order, whereas with 'permutations' there can be multiple final orders of the same numbers.

Examples:

... Take the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6.

For 'combinations', if your generator produced these sets of numbers:

... 1 2 3 4 5 6
... 1 2 3 4 6 5
... 1 2 3 5 6 4
... (etc)
... they would all get resolved into one single combination line:

... 1 2 3 4 5 6

If your generator was producing 'permutations', then each of those lines would be a valid permutation of the six numbers and would be retained. You would seem to have 'duplicate' lines, especially if the generator finally re-ordered them into ascending sequence.

- - -

In Lotto, the position of the numbers is not important (except for any 'bonus' or 'powerball' kind of number). The order in which the game draws its winning numbers doesn't matter (again, except for the 'bonus'). If we match, say, five numbers we win the prize regardless of which order we wheeled them, and regardless of which order the game drew them.

- - -

That might not apply to your testing, but I thought it might be helpful since your discussion with Robert was about shifting the positions of the numbers.

- - -

By the way, our British cousins use the two terms 'permutation' and 'combination' interchangeably. They'll sometimes refer to 'perms', where the wheeling system is really generating 'combinations'.

Hope it helps,

CDEX

Is it possible that the lottery companies are fixing the games to provide bigger jackpots? Since the tickets are purchased on a computer don't the lottery companies know which numbers have been picked the most? This way they can control the out come of the games by changing the weights of the balls. I know the weights are supposed to be controlled. But how can we prove it? I used to be able to predict better a few years ago,but now I find it much harder. I play Canada 6/49 & a couple other Canadian lotteries.

Posted by Andy:

Greetings,

My question revolves around a desire for wheeling software capability of the following type:

--I end up -- before desiring covering strategy -- with about 10 -12 sets of three numbers, eg.

3 4 5

7 8 9

19 20 21

etc.

The center number is the "bullseye" of a separate predictive algorithm. The two outliers around the assumed center point "bullseye" are *necessary* because while the resolution of the predictive model is probably less than one == the numbers generated are fractional.

So I need a combinatorial algorithm that can input say 6-12 sets of three numbers per set, and output sets of 5, 6, 7, or 8 numbers for playing in the lottery.

So the combinatorial problem involves optimal combination of these many sets of three related numbers, with some statistical guarantees, if possible. The numbers in each set of three are part of that *unit*. In other words, -- numbers from that unit are to be combined with the other sets by ONE representative AT A TIME from each set. An optimal algorithm for creating a high-percentage cover is desired, with variability of number of input sets of three numbers.

I am sure this is fairly simple for you, but I am a beginner. :-)

What algorithm do you recommend which has the appropriate variable number of input "sets" of three and will output for 5, 6, 7, 8 lottery systems? Does Lottery Director Free wheeling do this task?

I would be very grateful if you could give me some advice, with links for both free and paid software downloads.

I have lots of links already and have looked at many, but hard to tell if they will do my specific need above. Your site and software appears to be of high quality.

Please give me several options. Some of highly touted links are dead. Please consider me a "dummy" :-) while making your explanation and advice.

I run windows XP but have another computer which can run windows 98. I also run system 9 on the Mac.

I am grateful.

According to numerology the numbers in that name are 49125251. The numbers to play are 491, 912, 125, 252, 525,and 215 is repeated again. You also have 49,9,19,12,21,25,29,11,25,52,22 and so on. If anyone wins with these numbers please let me know. Best of luck. Nek

Skip Four Wheel:
.
Yes, it's easy.
.
Just use your Lottery Director Free Wheeling (not the LD Professional Wheeling).
.
In Free Wheeling, when you come to your Filtering Menu, just press Enter (don't use any filters).
.
You'll come to a new menu, "Additional Reduction Techniques".
.
Use the "Skip Factor" on that menu.
.
To make a Skip Four wheel, just use a "Skip Factor" of 4.

Hope it helps,
:)

You know Steve, a large amount of money has a tendency to bring out the greed in a lot of folks. If you are with a lottery please make sure you have ALL of your legal paperwork in order. Please make sure that there are laws for the group put in place. And please make sure that the person that cashes in the tickets does not owe the IRS, back child support, student loans, etc... I say this because it would be unfair to the rest of your group when you win and you end up in someone else's legal mess. Also make sure you have no past members who think they are entitled to part of the win because they played since the beginning and then you hit a jackpot 2-3 drawings after they left the group. You get the idea.

But on the whole playing with a group can be a lot of fun as well as economically sound. Just make sure the group is not too big. I hope you find one and you win big!!!

Does anyone know WHY it takes Canada's Atlantic Lottery Commission so long to publish results????
As per ALC's FAQ. #11. What time are the draws held for jackpot and draw products?
Answer.. Sales for jackpot and draw products close at 10:00 pm Atlantic Time and the draws take place immediately after the sales close and are reconciled. Before the official winning numbers are communicated to the public, there is a lot of work going on in the background to confirm and validate the winning number. This verification process can take up to two hours. Once the numbers are confirmed, all media contacts are contacted and informed of the winning number.

The winning numbers are usually posted on www.alc.ca between 11:30 PM and 12:00 AM.

Other lottery are viewed as they are drawn.

My small wheels have not allowed a big win yet, but I suppose that's just a matter of time and I will be trying different wheels on paper to see what happens. Thanks for LD. Wish me luck!

Hi Guys,
I have a question regarding this program..Australias Oz Lotto draws 7 of 45 numbers..Total number of combinations is over 45.000.000 .. Is there any chance to generate all combinations possible with max 4 consecutive numbers (exclude all combinations with 5,6 or 7 consecutive numbers)? Im happy to buy the proffesional version if this is possible..If not ,is there any other software that you know of, that can do this? Thx a lot
